We asked Brittney some questions so that our learners can get to know her better and get some nutrition tips along the way.
Basic Nutrition Tips from Brittney
1. How’d you get into nutrition?
I cured myself all naturally of lifelong debilitating chronic fatigue, Hashimoto’s, anxiety, depression, ADHD, digestive issues, breast implant illness, skin issues, & insomnia.
For the first time in my life I actually feel healthy at 39 years old. Everything I learned was just too good to not share, I wanted to help others heal. So I decided to further my education at the institute of integrative nutrition in 2019
2. What’s your favorite part about working as a nutritionist?
I love helping people not only transform their health, but also their mindsets! Its incredible how they also inspire their friends and families to do the same.
3. Give us your ideal day of eating.
I’ve found what works best for me personally is a ketogenic or paleo style of eating. Lots of veggies, clean meats and healthy fats.
We’re talking eggs and avocado for breakfast, some type of salad for lunch, maybe a protein shake at some point and then a protein and a veggie for dinner. I’ve been on a bison burger kick lately.
4. If you had to give people 3 tips for eating a more nutritious diet, what would they be?
Discover your why!!! Connect with it!!! Make it your mantra!!!
“Why” is it so important for YOU to get healthy?
What will it help you accomplish?
How will that impact every part of your life?!
Once you do that creating the healthier habits will come a lot easier.
5. What’s your go-to dinner when you don’t have a lot of time to cook?
Almond flour tacos with ground bison!
It’s so quick just cook the bison add taco seasoning, toast the shell and throw on lettuce and salsa, boom 10 minutes and you're eating dinner!
6. What can people expect from your group lesson on foundational nutrition?
Yes we will talk about food, but we will mostly talk about your mindset, your why and how to create those healthier habits. Most people have a basic idea of what to eat, that they need to exercise, that they should sleep more, drink more water etc. Knowing those things is not what inspires you to do them, right?
The goal is to transform your mindset into food is fuel & nutrition not entertainment or and escape etc. Once you can see it from that angle the rest falls into place! Mindset is a muscle, just like everything else, it takes practice & consistency.
