Scout is an American Paralympic Track and Field athlete. She spent a large part of her childhood in an orphanage in Nanjing, China. She has overcome many hardships in her life, including teaching herself to walk with a makeshift prosthetic leg. She has gone on to become a one-time Paralympic athlete in 2016, a two-time world championship bronze medalist in 2017, a four-time ITU paratriathlon World Championships medalist, a four-time USA Paratriathlon National Championship medalist, and the 2011 Endurance Live Awards Challenged Athlete of the Year.
